Erotic Nude Models: The Best Techniques For Helping Them Feel Comfortable

Posted by admin in learning photography blog

Developing a good rapport with your model is necessary if the two of you are going to work well together. Since there won’t be much time to develop a rapport while you’re in the midst of shooting, you’ll need to start working on this from the time she walks in the door. As the very old saying goes, “You only get one chance to make a first impression.” I realize it’s a cliche – but it also happens to be true.

Based on your individual personality, it will be up to you to figure out how best to set a good tone from the very beginning. However, I want to share a few things that have worked well for me over the years (with hundreds of different models).

First, I keep an eye out for when the model arrives at my house. When she does, I meet her at her car and introduce myself. I help her with any bags or suitcases that she has brought with her. It’s hard to believe, but with the simple act of carrying her bags, I’ll have already shown her more respect than the majority of photographers she will ever work with. I believe that a lot of photographers who do this type of work are somewhat intimidated by beautiful women and try to compensate for their fears by being rude and disrespectful.

When the model comes into the house, I ask if the temperature feels okay to her. She’ll usually say it’s fine; however, If she prefers something else, I’ll change it. I always put the comfort of the model ahead of mine. After all, she’s the one who is going to be getting in and out of clothes and spending a good part of the next few hours nude. Next, I ask the model is if she wants anything to drink.

Now is probably a good time to address a question that I often get asked: “Is it a good idea to offer alcohol to a model?” As I’ve emphasized in this section, I believe that the focus of a shoot should nearly always be directed toward getting the best pictures within the time allowed. In certain situations, a moderate amount of alcohol may be helpful in achieving this goal. However, “getting a girl drunk” will very rarely lead to better pictures. I discuss this topic in more detail in my ebook, Money Shots (http://moneyshotsbook.com).

What you do regarding this topic is up to you. However, I strongly suggest that you never give alcohol to a model who is under 21. Trust me, I know how difficult it can be to turn down a beautiful, naked 18-year-old girl who is standing in front of you and begging for, “Just one glass of wine.” Still, you must absolutely resist this temptation. Failure to do so could result in very serious trouble.

I’m not implying that alcohol at shoots is always a bad idea. It can sometimes be used help calm the nerves of a new model and, consequently, result in better pictures. On very rare occasions, it may even lead to a beautiful woman you just met wanting nothing more in the world than to make mad, passionate love to you at that very moment. However, in most cases, if you let a model drink to anything close to excess, you’ll simply end up with a drunk, nude girl asleep on your sofa (looking on the bright side, I’m sure there is a vast market for photos of drunk, nude, sleeping girls).

Wedding is Forever

$7,000 floral arrangements, $8,000 for catering, $2,000 music, $10,000 location rental, $5,000 wedding planner… and the list goes on and on. An upscale wedding, at the writing of this article, does easily cost upwards of $100,000, testimony to how we want this day to be perfect and remembered for as long as possible.

This sum of money does not take into account all the work in preparations that usually the bride engages upon, nor the countless hours of friends and family members to ensure that everything is just perfect. It is not an exaggeration to state that a wedding is really a major production. We instinctively associate the greatness of the moment with its lasting continuity over time.

A week after the wedding how many people will remember the color of the floral arrangement? what desert they ate? what the Best Man had to say in his speech? Probably some details will be remembered for a couple of years but the bulk of what your $100,000 purchased will vanish into oblivion within a few weeks. The fickleness of human memory is immune to greatness. Ask Nikola Tesla, the inventor of the radio, microwave, alternate current, and many more. Most people don’t even know who he is.

This considerable amount of expense and work will not ensure its lasting continuity over time. The other question is how would you like it to be remembered? Would you like a faithful reproduction? The answer might be no. George Washington was bitterly despised on his term as President, many people calling for his impeachment and crowds jeering at him on the street, yet that is not the image that has survived throughout all these centuries.

Faithful reproduction of those select moments conveying the greatness of this event is therefore what you want to last a lifetime. This is how you want people to remember you, your friends, family and generations beyond. The split-second moments that define what you have worked so hard and spent so much money to achieve, these minute pieces of time are going to define what really happened in the minds of those who will look at them in the future.

No matter what took place in actuality, regardless of the mistakes or mishaps, guests’ blunders or greatness, the careful capture of the appropriate moments is what will tell anyone for decades and possibly centuries to come, what really happened.

This is what you want to be Perfect. The photographer is the one you need to pick wisely. They make this all happen.

This is why people after a few minutes get bored watching a video recording, while they are ecstatic and spend hours looking at pictures. (this is why incidentally, motion pictures are shot and made like pictures, not like chronological video recordings)

Isn’t it odd then that we place the least value on this most important topic? We usually place the photographer at the same level of the floral arrangements. In fact, we might not even blink at the bill for flowers, not even meet its vendor, but haggle with the photographer and pay him less.

On a $100,000 wedding, photography seldom is more than 5% of the budget, paradoxically, $95,000 will be forgotten in a few weeks and $5,000 will make it possible for your grandson’s children to meet you.

Maybe the culprit is the sense of familiarity. After all, we can all purchase an inexpensive camera for under $100 and modern technology has spared us the travails of its operation. It is so easy to click and get a picture which is reasonably good, that we really don’t think much of it.

The other factor is that we readily assume that technology is really what we are paying for. We tend to associate technology with a high quality delivery. Can a top of the line computer write a better letter than a 1920s typewriter? is a top of the line digital camera going to take a better picture that an old film camera? the answer is – not necessarily.

Technology is purely an aid, it makes things faster and simpler – that’s all. The biggest and swankiest camera can only record what’s in front of its lenses, the same as any other camera, regardless of price or sophistication.

It takes life to see life. Communication has nothing to do with the physical devices employed on the transmission of the message, the substance that people convey to people regardless of the mechanical means used is what communication really is about.

You want your photographer not just to record the special moments, most able photographers can do that relatively inexpensively, you want the photographer to know you and elicit the best you can offer for posterity and then capture and freeze that split-second reality and through the magic of photography make it last for eternity.

The photographer will ensure your true beautiful you is there for the unborn generations of the future to marvel at.

3 Essential Portrait Photography Tips for Absolute Beginner

Posted by admin in learning photography blog

Photography is an enjoyable hobby but it can also be turned into a commercial
venture by extending paid services to the public, be it family portrait
photography, outdoor portrait photograpy, baby portrait photography or wedding
portrait photography.

Portrait photography is an easy way to interact with your subjects and photographing
their priceless moments to be treasured in the years to come. However before
you proceed on your portrait photography journey, here are some 3 chief
portrait photography tips you need to know in order to succeed:

Tip 1) Preparation is Key

Scout for a location for your shoot, once chosen, you need to explore the area
in order to familiarise yourself with the spot.

Pick out certain scenic spots in your location and take note of some areas which
would provide a better backdrop for your subjects.

During the days approaching the shoot, check out the weekly weather forecast in your
local meteorological station in order to avoid scheduling your shoot on a rainy
day. Do have a substitute indoor location in the event
of bad weather.

Tip 2) Types of Portrait Lenses

Aside from using lenses with zoom functions, use fixed focal length lenses
which are much suited for portraits, such as a 50mm f/1.8 or a 85mm f/1.8.

Good prime lenses for portrait photography are lenses with wider apertures of at
least F/1.8, which allow the user to achieve very shallow depth of field, where
the background is reduced to a smooth, dreamy blur whilst still having the
subject sharp and in focus. This gives a very nice pop to the image, at the same
time blurring away any distracting background.

The focal length for these lenses should be 50mm or longer, as mid telephoto or
telephoto would flatter the subject and isolate the subject from the background.
While wide angle lenses (wider than 50mm) will tend to distort and widen your
subject’s face than it really is, thus creating an unflattering image.

Tip 3) Lighting

Photography is essentially painting with light, where light is your paint, and
the camera your canvas. Therefore it is a crucial element for portraits as with
the right light, you can create dramatic portraits.

Try to shoot during the magic hours of the day, the first hour and last hour
of day, usually around 8am-9am or 5pm-6pm. The quality of light in the golden
hours gives you warm, diffused light which flatter your subject by giving their
faces a warm, healthy glow. The weather is also cooler and allows your subjects
to relax and be in a more comfortable mood.

Shooting portrait in the afternoon is often not ideal, as the quality
of light can be very harsh, leading to squinting eyes, blown out highlights and
very uncomfortable subjects.

Commercial Photography – Reasons To Call A Professional Photographer For Your Business

Posted by admin in learning photography blog

Qualified commercial photographers- the question arises that who need these photographers in this digital era of photography? The five explanations to the reason why they must be incorporated in your business’s advertisement budget are as follow:

Uniformity:

It gives a very hideous impression when someone visits your website and sees business photographs that does not follow a theme and reflects the non seriousness of your organization. Whereas, consistency in the theme gives integrity to the advertisement, may it be in any mode. It is insensible to waste time and money on putting up trashy and low quality photographs on your advertisements and website.

Artistry:

Professional commercial photographers do not only capture photographs but also plays an important role in their composition and advices the business organization how to communicate well with the customers. As my experience in commercial photography, I have come across numerous brochures, printed advertisements and websites and have studied the demand and the trends of the market pattern.

Exposure:

Lighting is the key element to fine commercial photography. Having a high pixel camera is important too but the element of lighting increases the visibility, exposure and creates a vibrant image for the business purposes.

Studio Shooting:

Adding photographs of the business employees, the premises and the progression is a plus point for every business organization, but putting up the professional studio photographs enhances your merchandise images. It is not as expensive procedure as one may think. Particularly if your business deals in items that are alike and captured and printed on the catalog. Once the initial shot is accepted, the commercial photographers uses their expertise and tools to fabricate the consistent and definite images that are attractive to display online or in printed catalog.

Dependability:

It is necessary to give such a significant job in the hands of a professional commercial photographer. He is the only one who can change the images to the best advantage of the business. If the job is given in the hands of the professional photographer then he is responsible for its creative presentation and demonstration, this will result in saving your time and frustration or your employee which itself is a factor of production.

You must get quotation from local commercial photographers, and discuss your ideas and explain him your needs. This is a competitive industry and hence they should not charge consultation fee and visit your business place to get the job done.

Nikon D7000 vs Nikon D300s

Posted by admin in learning photography blog

The folks at Nikon just can’t help themselves. They produce one excellent digital SLR camera after another. The D7000 is no exception.

When you look at the Nikon D7000 vs D300s, they are quite similar in performance, however, there are some differences you may want to consider before passing over the plastic card.

Nikon has resisted the tendency to produce more and more pixels just because they can. The D300s is an excellent 12-megapixel image machine that has no limit to the excellence of quality. For most folks, a photo with more than 12-mp is not necessary. However, the new model sports a sensor with 16.2-megapixels, still with outstanding quality. The resolution coupled with the DX format bring top quality images that will rival any of the full frame cameras.

Also improved is the ISO range. It has been increased from 200-3200 up to 100-6400 base range with expansion as high as 25600. That is truly amazing. No need for night vision goggles. This camera can practically see in the dark. The resulting images at high ISO are much improved over earlier models due to the processing technology.

The new DSLR also has a feature in the sensor called “exposure metering using 2016-pixel RGB sensor.” Essentially, what this does is render images much more “pixel perfect” using computer comparisons to thousands of memorized exposure, white balance and lighting situations.

Video is present in the D300s at 720p HD input at 24 fps, but it has been upped to full 1080p HD video. But the really cool thing is the full-time auto-focus which is not available in many DSLR cameras. It also offers an external mic for high quality stereo sound,

Additionally, there are twin SD card slots to record more images and video, the older model has one CF and one SD slot.

As far as size, the newer model is a full 1/2 pound lighter making the load easier over the long haul.

Both models have 100% coverage in the viewfinder, which is a benefit that is worthy of mention, simply because other models do not have full coverage of the image area.

No matter which of these cameras you opt to purchase, you will be singing the praises of it, but the Nikon D7000 is bound to be at the top of the digital SLR mountain, at least until Nikon releases the next winner.

Making Calendars utilizing Cd Cases

Posted by admin in learning photography blog

Any time you hear the phrase CD Desk Calendar’? you might be a little baffled about how these photo calendars are meant to look like. Nevertheless what you need to understand these kinds of desk calendars is that they never include the actual Compact discs at all. As a substitute, they make use of the CD jewel cases that serve as the frameworks for these calendars. When they are properly set-up, you merely have to place a custom ‘CD cover’? that will work as your desk calendars design. If this sounds easy, you will see just how impressive these calendars tend to be when you realize its advantages.

Complete Customization.

Many desk calendars look great because they all contain themes. But with these kinds of calendars, you could have total control on the theme. CD jewel cases are available in several colours so you can generally pick the preferred one as your first customization element. The actual fun happens when you start designing a calendar on your computer. You are able to control how big the calendar boxes, the particular font type and size, plus the over-all layout. If you are planning to put shots in your calendar, you’ll be able to freely drag a picture in and get it printed on the stock style of your decision. Then you can quickly cut the paper to the standard 4.75 by 4.715 in. so it will be able to fit correctly in the case cover.

Your customization doesn’t end there because you will probably create a simple layout for a single month. Because of this right after the month finishes, you are able to get rid of the cover and replace it with an completely fresh layout. This is simply not even very difficult to do if you designed a perfect template which you can use for every month. On this template, you can just perform small adjustments to each month by swapping the picture or other elements. Should you have sufficient cardstock, you are able to already prepare future months ahead of time that can span several years which means you will never have to purchase another desk calendar again.

Low-priced to produce

Compact disc jewel cases are economical to purchase in bulk and you only need one anyway until you plan on placing them on numerous tables or gifting away to family and friends. In fact, when you are a qualified designer, you could be able to make additional money on the side by trading these kind of desk calendars along with the calendar cards each month for a price which rivals desk calendars. The tiny size ensures that you may not need to worry too much about ink and you may always use black and white printer ink to create a basic but still individualized CD calendar.

Small and flexible

Keep in mind that CD calendars continue to be considered CD jewel cases so that you can still collapse them in to the regular CD case and also place a disc inside if you left the disc holder intact. Because of this it is simple to put a multitude of CD calendars in a bag or case. Lining them up next to one another looks good too. The best thing about these calendars is that they are not very hard to produce specifically if you own dedicated software programs for creating album covers or Compact disk calendar covers.

Getting Creative with Maternity Photography

Posted by admin in learning photography blog

Maternity photography, like any other type of photography, is what we make of it. As photographers, we have almost unlimited options for creating unique and amazing photos: lighting, filters, background and setting all give us endless opportunities, yet I’ve noticed that many maternity photos look rather pedestrian and cliché.

Pregnancy is a special time in a woman’s life, and the maternity photos that you take should reflect that. Don’t be afraid to go beyond the ubiquitous hands-forming-a-heart-over-her-belly shot and do something different. While your model will let you know what she’s comfortable with and how conservative (or daring) she wants to be, you can make suggestions and help to encourage her to push her limits. Conversely, you may also be surprised by how open she is, and some ideas that she may have, so don’t be afraid to have an open and frank discussion beforehand.

One technique that I like to use in my maternity photo shoots is infrared. Infrared produces a soft grain that is flattering to both face and figure, and should you be shooting outdoors it gives your model an almost otherworldly appearance, with vegetation taking on a white glow, and any clothing or fabrics that you’re using can turn out looking completely different in print form than expected. Is it often seen in traditional maternity shots? Not really, but it’s exciting and different, and many of my mom-to-be models have been genuinely enthused when they see these <ahref=http://www.maternityphotoclassics.com/gallery.htmlshots/>shots.

Another thing that I like about shooting outdoors is that it can be done in shade or sun, so it gives a lot of interesting lighting options, especially if you’re shooting some rolls in black and white. Keep in mind that the time of day will affect your lighting, so if you’re shooting in the middle of the day, obviously you’ll have a much stronger light, and using film or regular digital will usually produce harsher images, particularly of the skin. (This is a situation where shooting infrared can produce outstanding results, by the way.) Also, be careful about putting your models in the sun for very long periods, since sun, for long periods, is a skin killer.

And while we’re on the topic of lighting, I’ve gotten great results using varied lighting techniques: the use of backlight or sidelight will usually enhance most photos of people (with or without clothes,) resulting in creative results. Don’t be afraid to highlight and shadow different features of your mom-to-be, not just the aforementioned belly shots. Use filters, backlighting and shadow to catch and feature her face’s radiant glow and the natural beauty of pregnancy, capturing her expressions from different angles and perspectives. Does your model have tattoos? These can be featured in interesting ways, and using different fabrics, such as lace or gauzy linen, can spark additional creativity. On a technical note, if you’re using infrared, shooting with the light source from the back of the photographer or slightly from the side is preferable. As you add infrared shooting to your repertoire, experiment, experiment, experiment; in addition to the learning part, it’s fun!

Quality Control – Ensuring that your Pictures are the Best

Posted by admin in learning photography blog

I’m pretty sure you do not want to do this, as there are other things that the couple should be concerned with as a wedding is a big occasion to prepare for. However, while you are at the process of getting stressed up and confused with the many things to do, allow me to add one more thing to your stressors.

Making sure that your pictures are of good quality, and there is no other way to make sure that you get the best quality pictures but by checking it for yourself. Although you can make a step before everything else by checking the pictures of the photographer in his previous works, but if everything is said and done then, here are some tips for you to ensure that you get the best out of your money.

First of things that you can do is to make sure that the pictures have a good quality by checking the color quality of the picture. Some picture outputs have poor color and it can show colors to be lighter than usual. For instance, green becomes light green, red has become light red or sometimes even pink. This usually happens when a film is not developed after its use and thus allows itself to get exposed with air. You can ask the photographer to quickly do something about it before everything is too late.

Another thing would be red eyes. This is not just an occurrence with analog cameras but also with digital ones. Just when you thought that things have taken a big leap with electronics through technology. This usually happens when the photographer uses a low quality camera. Good thing is you can ask your photographer to edit this with the use of a computer, or better yet ask him to use a high quality camera.

Things appearing to have small boxes or the dot matrix are also one thing that you may want to avoid. You can avoid this by making sure that your photographer uses a good quality camera.

Poor quality lighting can be one ugly occurrence. Trust me, things may appear to be too dark or bright colored things can appear even brighter with a poor technique. This actually is based on the photographer’s skill and experience with this work. Make sure that you get a skilled photographer to avoid this problem.

With those tips in mind, you now have an even higher standard to compare potential photographers. It is obvious that considering many things in a wedding can be a stress but making sure that everything comes to a good ending such as quality control with your pictures will eventually pay off as you receive the outputs.
